On the mouth of Nohkalikai Falls

Introduction

One of the most adventurous experiences I came across in recent times is walking down to the mouth of the highest plunge waterfall in India the Nohkalikai Falls

If you are an adventurous person this should be on your bucket list. This includes walking on the open field and then a path taking towards a wooden arrow mark from there you have to go down with hill covered on both sides with greenery.

  • Nohkalikai

On the path down somewhere, you have stairs made of rock, some muddy path, and some wooden ladder to go down

It takes nearly or more than half an hour to reach the rock-filled river bed where you can see clear streams flowing along.

Once you reach the riverbed on the left side you go to reach the mouth of Nohkalikai and on the right side if you go you can see Tlai waterfalls.

The river bed has huge boulders of rock which you have to jump across to reach the mouth of the Nohkalikai Falls

Jumping across the rocks and crawling through holes of the rock is quite adventurous some places you have to get down and cross those areas with the help of wood ladders

The locals for making the way easier have marked the path with red and white paint to follow

From the riverbed to jumping over rocks and reaching the mouth of the waterfall it took nearly 45 minutes.

Over the years, the continuous flow of water through openings in the riverbed has created several pools and waterfalls that then plunge into the valley.
